VOTE! Monday March 29!
Posted by admin

Hey 1T1,

Its time to pick your last years class council. And here are our candidates:

President:

Jelena Sparavalo

I am running for 4th year class president! I’d love to help make our last year in Pharmacy our best year yet!

Gianna Tassone

I’d like to make our last year in pharmacy as fun, educational and organized as possible.  I will do this by ensuring we have class events (including social, athletic and academic) that fit around our busy schedules and allow us to relax and have some fun!  Most importantly, I’d like to create a monthly and weekly calendar on our website that would contain detailed information regarding class events as well as recruitment and residency dinner updates.  This will help to decrease our stress levels and the number of emails we receive on a daily basis (I know by now most of us are email overloaded!).

.

Vice-President

Vanessa Cho

I hope to be able to put my fundraising and money-managing skills to good use next year to raise more money to have the best grad formal ever! I will work closely with the Grad committee to have more fundraising events to get as much money as possible to have a memorable and fun formal. On top of that, the money that I’ll raise will go towards getting a grad gift people will actually thank us for (no more digital clocks that no one can read!)

Rachel Fu

Just dropping a quick note to you everybody -I’m running for the Vice President position on the 1t1 Class council. From fundraising to grad formal, I’ll do my best so that we can have a fantabulous finish to our 4 years at the faculty.

Janet Leung

.

Faculty Reps: (2 Faculty Reps will be voted in)

Naomi Steenhof

I will skip the formalities and offer my core ideas for the position:

1. Confident representation - I will continue to engage the Faculty in a manner that reflects the accomplished, near-professional standing of our class
2. Rapid communication - I will send you a consistent, weekly summary of deadlines, exams and events (without overloading your inbox)
3. Smooth rescheduling - I will act quickly to keep rescheduled classes convenient and on your radar.

Paul Jin Lee

The first semester of fourth year will be a whirlwind of 7 courses with a PPL and two or three Therapeutics cases every week. I am very well-known to be on top of things. If elected, my goal will be to help you get through that semester as smoothly as possible by enhancing communication between the class and the Faculty.

Justin Lin

My Platform:

1. Continue with the academic updates we have all been so accustomed to, and to keep us in the know.
2. Express the views of the class to the Faculty and push for changes that we feel may be needed to ensure our sucess
3. Work with my partner to foreward any questions you have about course material to the Professors and follow up for as quick a reply as possible.
4. Be as lighthearted as I can cause sometimes humor is needed in these stressful times.

Ramya Krishnan

What I hope to do:
- Ensure that any academic or non-academic concerns you may have are brought to the attention of appropriate faculty members in a proactive and timely manner
- Advocate on the class’s behalf to ease our 4th year academic burden as much as possible such as providing access to lecture recordings wherever possible

.

Residency Reps:

Yin Hui

Anatoli Chkaroubo

.

Female Athletic Rep:

Kayla Castonguay

Stephen Pahuta

.

So come out and vote for your class council on MONDAY in what will be our most important year yet.

And if anyone wants to take the webmaster position from me, feel more than free to take it. Seriously!

Thanks,

Navjeet Sekhon

I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Benson Kua and I will be your yearbook representative for this school year. Most of you probably already know me if you took your yearbook portrait retakes last school year.

I just have 4 items that I wanted to mention.

1. Boat Cruise: To anyone who attended the boat cruise last Friday, I would like to ask you guys if you have any pictures you’d like to submit and share to the yearbook; if you do, then you can just email me back or approach me during class and we can set something up or you can keep reading on to item #2.

2. Submitting Pictures: To submit your pictures to yearbook, you can contact me if you have any pictures you’d like to share and we can work something out on how to get the pictures from you OR you can upload them yourself. The instructions for uploading are as follows:
a) GO TO https://www.photoshop.com/user/pharmakon
b) SIGN IN with login and password (sent in the listserv email)
c) Press UPLOAD PICTURE & VIDEOS, select photos and press UPLOAD
d) We’ll do the rest: sort them into the appropriate albums once received

3. Yearbooks are on sale: You can already start buying yearbooks. They are $25 per yearbook and $30 with engravings (to a maximum of 29 characters with spaces included). If you would like to buy one, you can just approach me in class or email me back at bensonkua@gmail.com

4. Viewing Yearbook Pictures: If you would like to view the pictures taken throughout the year, you can go to our class website and click on the “Photos” link on the top banner.

Thank you very much and I hope to take wonderful pictures of the class throughout the year!!!
